Thank you, Gale. You’re very sweet. I would love to talk with you.

Ah, hello there. Welcome to my world of stories. Do make yourself at home.

…I have a story.

youth-joy-and-freedom:

A-at first, the night sky was pitch black. You couldn’t see anything. Once the sun was down, that was it. Nothing more until it came up. Nothing could bring the light back.

Then humans came. And they couldn’t call the sun, either. So they gave up and went to sleep when the black came.

Except one night, a little kid made a wish. He wished not that the sun would come back like everyone else, but that he could see.

And the little wish flew up from his lips and become a bright thing in the sky, and it shined on him only.

The little boy began making wishes, and soon the light was bright enough to see by.

He saw all the people sleeping, and wondered why they weren’t awake to see how beautiful the world was at night. And he realized that all the light was focused on him. So he made one more wish. Just one. So he could leave room in the sky for everyone else.

He wished that the light would shine on everybody, no matter where they were.

That wish became the North Star.

Soon everybody woke up, and started wishing. Not at night, but during the day, too. Some wishes were big, like a bear. Some where small, like a little dipper. Some wishes fit together, like a belt. And some stood alone.

And people filled the night sky with their wishes so that, when the sun went away, they could look up and see all their wishes spread out, and the light of what they wished for would shine in on their dreams when they went to sleep.

And that’s how stars were born.
